Summer in the City
New work and theme development generating visual research for a long hot summer living and playing in the city
VIEWPOINTS AT THE MODERN PANTRY
New work by Louise West
This new collection of paintings and collages continues exploring the theme of beauty in the ordinary and mundane capturing overlooked views in London; reflecting different people’s lives and experiences of living within our city of contrasts.
These differing experiences and opportunities are reflected in the viewpoints and horizons within the paintings. By flattening space, overlaying and breaking down elements into anonymous geometric forms the work explores the disconnectedness of this new cityscape and wealth that overshadows the living spaces and everyday lives of London.
